To improve cosmeticsand reduce contrast visible signature, we removed the top whitebranding, and we streamlined the lens housing with a clean design.
The First Strike 2.0 is right at home on shotguns for turkey hunting,rimfire rifles for Steel Challenge competition, Pistol Caliber Carbinesfor USPSA or 3Gun, MSRs as a primary or offset optic for hunting ortarget use, or it can even be mounted directly to custom mounts forcompetition pistols. I was in the market for a lightweight AR red dor. This fits the bill perfectly. The riser makes it comfortable to shoot with and the tool it comes with (allen wrench screwdriver combo) helps sight it in quickly. When shooting in direct sunlight, it does tend to glare, but the main dot is still more than visible. Time will tell how tough it is, but it seems well built, and i don’t plan on being nice to it.

From rimfire & centerfire rifles to pistols, a dependable optic. I have one mounted on a Volquartsen Black Mamba 22LR, using the Picatinny rail, quick acquisition, and holds zero. I would recommend this optic.

Working great on my Browning Buckmark. Battery tray on unit sent was different than instructions. Result: Broken battery tray. Replaced promptly by Bushnell. Unnecessary hiccup. I’ve had good luck with Bushnell products. This dot is basic and functional.

I mounted one on an AR carbine and one on a .22 pistol. The included riser works well, the brightness settings are very adjustable, the battery is easily accessible. They appear well constructed. There is no on/off button. You just turn the dot brightness down until it’s off. For casual shooting/ hunting, I don’t mind at this price point. The battery life is supposed to be extremely long, so I plan on just leaving it on in situations where I might need it on short notice. In one photo, I showed a cheap reflex sight next to the Bushnell First Strike for size comparison. Also, the lense cover from that cheapo sight can be squeezed onto the Bushnell. Not a perfect fit, but seems functional. Overall very pleased and highly recommend, especially if you can get one at a deep discount.

Initially, I bought the first version and had to return using the warranty because it didn’t hold zero on the horizontal plane. Bushnell replaced the old RDS with the new 2.0 and it has worked like a champ! I sighted it in quickly, and it has held zero and is quick to acquire the dot on a couple of ARs and now my Buckmark pistol. The dot is bright and crisp. The included riser was perfect for my ARs. The only negative is that it doesn’t automatically turn on with movement like some other RDSs, but with the long battery life, it may not really matter. I would want to test it a bit more for home defense use, but otherwise, the Bushnell First Strike 2.0 Red Dot Sight is a solid performer.
