I appreciate the convenience of being able to detach the sling easily when cleaning or performing maintenance on my rifle, without having to disassemble the sling entirely. Quick-release swivels have been a staple on my hunting rifles for years. Once I adjust the slings to my liking, I prefer not to alter them, and I’ve never experienced any issues with the swivels failing.

The sling attachment is sturdy, but there’s an issue with the screw that secures the mount – it protrudes about one-sixteenth of an inch and has a very sharp edge. While it’s possible to file it down, it’s not ideal to have to fix a manufacturing error. Instead, I opted to purchase two Ade Advanced 1.25-inch sling swivel mounts, which are not only cheaper but also boast a better and stronger design without the hazardous protruding screw. The screw’s sharpness is concerning as it could potentially cut someone or get snagged in your sling webbing. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this particular product unless you’re willing to do some filing work. Despite being sold under the Uncle Mike’s brand name, it fails to meet the expected standards.

I like being able to take off the sling when I’m cleaning or working on the AR-15, without having to unravel the sling. I’ve used Uncle Mike’s QD Push Button Swivel for years on my hunting rifles. I get the slings adjusted, and I don’t like to change them. I have never had one fail on me.
